Hello! Welcome to Nelesc Designs.
So what will you find on my blog, you ask? Well, I love redesigning stuff so you will definitely be privy to my DIY step by step sewing tutorials and wardrobe refashions. I also enjoy sharing my art/museum adventures, creative entrepreneurship tips, musings on special needs mothering, and news from my shop.
I also teach craft entrepreneurship courses in collaboration with Etsy and The Small Business Administration. I love mentoring other budding creative entrepreneurs and welcome the chance to share my knowledge. You can learn more about the NYC Craft Entrepreneurship Program by clicking here.
You can also check out my Etsy shop at www.nelesc.etsy.com, which features my second love, screenprinting. There, you will find slighty reconstructed t-shirts with cultural icons screen printed on each, screen printed leather accessories, and cuffs made from fabric. I also offer clothing and accessory patterns/tutorials there too.
My sewing/crafting journey began with my children. Both of my boys have special needs and creating and selling my designs allowed me to stay home with them as I balanced their therapy schedules with my creative life. Sewing, crafting, printing (and having the most amazing supportive husband in the world), help me be a better mom to my beautiful boys. This is the context in which I create and look forward to sharing more about this in my upcoming book.
Hope you enjoy the ride!

ReplyDeleteThank you! I appreciate the love!
It's lovely to have come across your blog as I share similar passions with my sewing and I also have special needs kids on the autism spectrum :) It's a tough road but it's our journey, and having a creative outlet such as this certainly helps :)
ReplyDeleteHello Hootnz! Thank you so much for joining me on this journey, how wonderful that we have our kids and sewing in common!
